Week at a Glance 9/18-9/22 Nativity of the Theotokos
Hello and welcome to the new week!
Welcome to an exciting and promising week ahead! As Orthodox Christians, we celebrate the The Nativity of the Theotokos. This feast day teaches us the importance of divine providence, reminding us that God's plan unfolds in His own time and way. It also encourages us to embrace humility and purity of heart, as exemplified by the Holy Mother, in our own spiritual journeys. As a reminder, students will be attending Liturgy on Thursday morning to be followed by classes afterward.
Now let's look at what the week ahead is going to look like:
MONDAY:
K-1st Grade English will begin reading Henry the Dirty Dog
2-3rd Grade Art will be working on self-portraits
7th Grade Math will be investigating fractions and percentages and we also will learn Geometry.
9-12th Grade Government will be watching Hamilton
TUESDAY:
4-5th Grade Art will begin Mosaics
6th Grade English students will learn about the importance of selflessness through the characters in "The Wind in the Willows," and continue reviewing grammar skills in Shurley.
10-11th Grade Math will be studying Polynomial Operations and factoring technics.
9-12th Grade Government will be watching Hamilton
WEDNESDAY:
6-8th Grade Art will begin Impressionist paintings
7-6th Grade English students will continue to focus on family values and gender stereotypes in " As You Like It."
9-12th Grade English students will continue to learn about the importance of individuality and the consequences of judgment in "The Scarlet Letter."
THURSDAY:
Nativity of the Theotokos Liturgy
8th Grade Photo will be building and using Pinhole cameras
6th Grade Math will learn order of operations and Geometry
9-12th Grade Photo will begin a review on 35 mm cameras, film processing and enlarging
Friday:
Math Club will meet for the first time this Friday.
9-12th Grade Art/Art History will be learning about the art of Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance
