Week at Glance 3/3-3/7 Great Lent
Welcome to the Week Ahead!
Great Lent is a season of spiritual renewal, fasting, prayer, and repentance as we prepare to celebrate Christ’s Resurrection. It is a journey of humility and self-reflection, calling us to deepen our faith and strengthen our relationship with God. Through acts of kindness, increased prayer, and participation in the Church’s beautiful Lenten services, we are invited to grow spiritually and draw closer to Christ.
Lent is also a time for learning—not just about our faith, but about ourselves. It teaches discipline, patience, and the importance of setting aside distractions to focus on what truly matters. By engaging with sincerity, students gain valuable lessons that extend beyond the classroom, shaping their character and spiritual growth.
Upcoming Events:
Canon of St. Andrew
All students are required to attend the Canon of St. Andrew at the Cathedral, beginning at 6 p.m. (Grades K -5th may leave after the Canon at 6:45), unless your parish priest requests your attendance at your local church. This beautiful service of repentance is a fitting way to begin Lent. Please note that no homework will be assigned during the first week of Great Lent to facilitate everyone's attendance at the Canon.
For this upcoming week:
Math Classes:
4th and 5th graders will study together with differentiated assignments.
6th graders will strengthen their pre-algebra and geometry skills.
7th graders will continue their study of geometry.
8th graders will progress in algebra.
1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders will work on their third set of practice problems to prepare for the Math Kangaroo Contest on March 20th.
May this Lenten season be a time of growth and renewal for all!
