Week at a Glance 9/16-9/20 Welcome back!
Welcome to the Week Ahead!
Welcome to a new school year at St. John’s Academy! As we start on this journey together, we are reminded of the words of St. Basil the Great, "A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds." This year, we look forward to nurturing both the minds and hearts of our students, helping them grow in wisdom, faith, and virtue. With the blessings of the Lord, may this academic year be filled with growth, learning, and a deepening of our connection with one another. Let us all work together to make this a fruitful and blessed year!
For this upcoming week:
English Classes
5th Grade: Students will delve into the symbolism within The Secret Garden, while reflecting on the theme of loneliness and its impact on the characters.
6th Grade: In Where the Red Fern Grows, students will explore the spiritual connections to Earthly desires, focusing on how these desires shape the characters’ lives.
7th/8th Grade: As they continue reading Silas Marner, students will examine the main character's longing for connection and how it influences his journey toward redemption and personal growth.
Reminders for the Week:
