The beginning of the school year moleben.

As we are entering our 27th year of instruction at St. John’s Academy, we plan to start our academic studies the same way we have for the past 26 years — with a beginning of the year moleben, or prayer service, to our patron saint, St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco. Because this year we are unable to gather together in church, we plan to live-stream the service through the Holy Virgin Cathedral’s YouTube channel.

The moleben will be served at 10 am on Monday, August 24th. This year’s moleben will not only include prayer for the start of the school year at St. John’s Academy, but also for Sts. Cyrill and Methodius Gymnazia, as well as for Orthodox teachers, students and homeschooling families.
