SJA Virtual Summer Camp offerings -- June 29th - July 23rd
Make sure your children stay engaged this summer! SJA staff have designed unique summer offerings for students entering grades 2-7 in the fall of 2020. Camp courses are offered Monday through Thursday, from June 29th - July 23rd, 10 am to 12 pm.
Cost of camp is $80/week; if you register for all 4 weeks, you receive a 10% discount!

June 29 - July 2
M-Th 10 am - 11 am Film Workshop with Mr. Tchertkoff
This workshop offers students a deeper insight into the films we love in our popular culture, older classics, and different genres of fillm (movies and documentaries).
M-Th 11 am - 12 pm "Beyond the Canvas" Art Workshop with Ms. Khoury*
The week will be dedicated to learning about an artist, his/her life history, techniques and contributions, as well as learning those techniques through a hands-on experience of creating for themselves.
July 6 - July 9
M-Th 10 am - 11 am Summer S.T.R.E.A.M Program with Ms. Buonocore*
Exploring God's Creation through Earth's 12 Biomes. Learn about the Earth’s 12 biomes. Choose one biome to focus on, and create a diorama of that biome to share with the group.
M-Th 11 am - 12 pm "Beyond the Canvas" Part II with Ms. Khoury*
The week will be dedicated to learning about a different artist, his/her life history, techniques and contributions, as well as learning those techniques through a hands-on experience of creating for themselves.
July 13 - July 16
M-Th 10 am - 11 am Exploring Icons and Iconography with Ms. Buonocore*
In this week, students will have an overview of the theology of icons, discover a saint of their choosing, and mount a paper icon to keep!
M-Th 11 am - 12 pm "Cooking with Chemistry" with Ms. Newman
The biology of food…where does food come from? Are you really what you eat? Learn how vitamins work, making food, and the history of food.
July 20 - July 23
M-Th 10 am - 11 am Art Club Drawing Instruction with Mr. Tchertkoff
The Art Club is set out to teach drawing techniques to help students improve their skills. In this workshop we will learn about perspective, shading, the concepts of light and shadows. Drawing is not just an activity, it’s a philosophy of seeing.
M-Th 11 am - 12 pm "California Parks Party" with Ms. Newman
Learn about different California parks, the rich biodiversity of our parks, and how they came to be parks. Learn to identify plants and animals of the parks and Ohlone history. Sing virtual campfire songs!
